THE CPCA DENOMINATIONAL CENTER
In 1975, during the 101st Meeting of the General Assembly in Huntsville Alabama, construction of a denominational headquarters building was approved. This was to be the first building for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America in modern times to serve as the centralization of the denomination. The groundbreaking took place on March 6, 1976 and on October 30, 1983 the new facility was dedicated and opened for service. The facility houses the Moderators Office, the Youth Ministry Office, the Heritage Room, the E.D. McDonald Conference room (in honor of Earl Dement McDonald - a long time lover and diligent worker of the denomination), The Henry Ewing Jr. Auditorium (in honor of Rev. Henry Ewing Jr, a life long pillar of the CPCA). It also houses the offices of the General Assembly, General Assembly Mission Board and the Cumberland Flag.
The General Assembly Office provides an array of administrative support services to all Synods, Presbyteries and Churches of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America. Rev. Dr. Herring serves as the Executive Administrative Director, overseeing the general operations of the office, staff and General Assembly level programs. She also serves as a resource and advisory for the standing boards and committees, among her other duties.
EVOLUTION OF THE CPCA LOGO
The CPCA logo and organization mark has been the hallmark of the church for years. Since its original design, it has undergone significant change in an effort to meet progressive modern graphic and technological standards. The most recent update was made in 2016 which included two typography options and gradient color schemes. The graphics are set at 300 DPI and are available with and without the background which provides for ease of use and placement.
