Sunday School

9:45 - 10:15 am

A complete church school is offered. On Sunday mornings, Nursery through Adult classes are taught. There is a class for every age group and interest. 

Sunday Worship

8:15 - 9:45 am

First Sunday is Holy Communion
Third Sunday is Youth Sunday, where the youth are in charge in leading the Worship Service.
Fifth Sunday is Missionary Sunday and the Women’s Choir renders the song service.

Youth Ministry

This ministry team recognizes the importance of our youth having biblical training to guide them in their daily lives, and all endeavors are planned with this in mind. The Youth Advisors are: Rev. Mary Johnson, Sister Teedi Engram, Rev. Elizabeth Raybon, and Brother Bradley Pitts. This ministry also includes: Youth/Children’s Sunday School classes, Youth Bible Study classes, Bible Bowl and the Youth Choir.

Christian Education

Our goal is to make Christians well-rounded. Through Christian teaching our desire is to know God’s will for us. We know that when the Word is taught, lives can be changed.

We are focused on providing a high-quality spiritual experience.  We will do everything in the Lord  that we can do to meet your expectations.

Rev. Dr. Gloria Lynne Herring, Pastor

About our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Herring is the daughter of Mr. Howard Ratliff and Mrs. Artie Luckett Ratliff Tapscott.  Rev. Herring is married to Elder John E. Herring and they have a daughter, Teedi Herring Engram, and two grandchildren, Xavier II, Zoe.
 
She is a graduate of Lakeside High School Class of 1969; Calhoun Community College, Decatur, Alabama; the University of Alabama, Huntsville, Alabama, where she earned her B.S. Degree in Nursing; Memphis Theological Seminary, Master of Divinity degree, Memphis, Tennessee and Doctorate of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.
 
Dr. Herring currently serves as the Administrative Director for the Cumberland Presbyterian Churches in America. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Memphis Theological Seminary as well as various boards for the City of Decatur.  She currently teaches the Minister’s Class for Continuing Education for the Tennessee Valley Presbytery. Dr. Herring is a motivational speaker as well as an author. Pastor Herring has served as a Chaplain for Decatur General and Huntsville Hospital.
 
She has been the pastor of Macedonia C. P. Church in America for 31 years. She started pastoring at Macedonia in 1988. She loves the Lord and will tell it to anyone that asks her.
